SEMH Special Needs Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a committed and compassionate SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) Teaching Assistant to join a supportive SEND school ages primary school in Bromley . This role is ideal for someone who is patient, resilient, and passionate about helping children with additional needs thrive both academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with SEMH needs
- Assist the class teacher in creating a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment
- Implement behaviour support strategies and personalised learning plans
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to support emotional regulation
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
- Support pupils during transitions, break times, and throughout the school day
Requirements
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Right to work in the UK
- Availability for full-time work (Monday-Friday, term time)
- Experience supporting children with SEMH , challenging behaviour , or SEND is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills and a calm, empathetic approach
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow behaviour support plans
