● International exposure and global career opportunities Your responsibilities as a Tax Controversy and Risk Management Director
As a Tax Controversy professional, you’ll support clients in navigating complex tax disputes, HMRC enquiries and tax risk, helping them achieve effective resolutions and greater certainty. You’ll work closely with clients and wider tax teams to deliver technically strong and commercially focused advice, while supporting proactive engagement and negotiations with HMRC.
You’ll also help clients identify and mitigate potential tax risks, support the preparation of Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) certifications and published tax strategies, and assist organisations in preparing for Business Risk Review+ (BRR+) discussions. You’ll have the opportunity to work with large and multinational organisations on a variety of complex and high-profile tax matters.
Requirements
We’re looking for an experienced Corporate Tax professional with strong technical expertise and an interest in developing or continuing a specialism in Tax Controversy and Dispute Resolution. You’ll have broad experience across corporate tax compliance and/or advisory, with previous tax controversy or dispute resolution experience advantageous but not essential.
You’ll ideally hold an ACA, CA, ACCA, CTA or equivalent professional qualification, although relevant Tax Inspector experience with recognised technical training will also be considered. You’ll have strong UK tax technical knowledge, excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex tax legislation, identify potential risks and deliver high-quality advice.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, alongside a collaborative approach and a commitment to continued professional development. An interest in using technology and AI to improve tax processes and ways of working would also be beneficial.
