Brick Manufacturing Operative, Huddersfield

A fast growing brick slip specialist based in Skelmanthorpe, Huddersfield are currently recruiting a Brick Manufacturing Operative to join their team on a temporary to permanent basis.

In this role, you will be performing general Manufacturing Operative duties, such as loading/unloading materials, mixing materials, assembling products and operating various machinery like CNC, grinders and saws.

We’re keen to speak with candidates who have previously worked in a Manufacturing Operative, Production Operative, Machine Operator role or Yard Operative role in a similar working environment.

This is a fantastic opportunity to create a long term career, with inhouse forklift training and pay reviews offered once you’ve gained a permanent contract.

Hours: Monday to Friday / 7:30am – 4pm

Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour / Overtime paid at time and a half after 40 hours

Main duties of a Manufacturing Operative:

• General manufacturing of brick slips and assembling brick boards.
• Mixing resin and sticking bricks to MGO board.
• Setting and operating various machines such as; CNC Machines (water jet machine), Grinders, Groover machines, Auto Saws and Clipper Saws
• Loading and unloading materials in the yard manually, stacking and strapping of pallets ready for outbound when needed
• Manual handling of raw materials when needed.
• Industrial cleaning, cleaning down machines, work surfaces, factory floors.
• Use of forklift to load and unload once trained.
• Other industrial duties when required.

Skills Required of Manufacturing Operative:

• Physically fit due to the nature of the role
• Previously yard, brick manufacturing or industrial work experience would be preferred
• Positive ‘can do’ attitude towards work
• Enthusiastic approach to training and learning new skills
• Own transport would be preferred but not essential
