Shift Manager

Are you an experienced transport manager? Do you enjoy the challenge of managing a multi-skilled, multi-faceted team? Are you ready to make the step into one of the UK’s largest, and busiest supply chains?

We are currently searching for a Transport Shift Manager to join the team in our Distribution Centre in Bedford.

The shift pattern available is 4 on 4 off Nights.

This a leadership role, where you will take responsibility for the performance of your shift against set KPI’s. You will be providing your Transport Team Managers with the tools and manpower they need to allow the shift to run smoothly. You will be reporting directly to the Transport Operations Manager.

This role is offered on a full time, permanent basis. You will be given training on our internal management systems, but you must have a strong track record of management in a Logistics environment.

What you’ll be doing

• Leading, motivating and supporting your management team to deliver high service levels across our transport division
• Taking responsibility for your shift meeting its KPI’s
• Ensuring all staff are adhering to company policies and procedures
• Working closely with HGV Drivers, Training Team and Team Managers to ensure a smooth, continuous operation.
• Providing support to your Team Managers with any issues that might occur

What you’ll bring

• A strong track record of managing teams in a logistics or transport environment
• Proven ability to meet and exceed KPI’s
• Able to build positive, professional relationships with colleagues of all seniority levels
• Strong IT skills, especially with Excel
• Ability to remain calm under pressure
