Registered Nurse - Wound care | Fleetwood

Opportunity for a Wound Care Nurse to join our ever-expanding team of clinicians!

• Contract – Permanent
• Hours – Part-time
• Location – Fleetwood Health & Wellbeing Centre, Dock Street, Fleetwood, Lancashire, FY7 6HP
• Salary – £15.88 to £19.33 an hour Depending on experience

Main duties of the role

The post holder will be responsible for undertaking wound assessments and providing treatment for patients with simple wounds. This includes caring for patients with post-operative wounds, including suture and staple removal, post-trauma wounds such as skin tears and self-harm injuries, acute wounds requiring follow-up care, cavity wounds, and burns or scalds that need ongoing management. The role also involves educating patients on factors that support wound healing, including nutrition and scar management.

In addition, the post holder will be expected to refer patients to the wider community team where appropriate, support senior clinicians and healthcare assistants, attend meetings as required, and contribute to promoting the service and implementing changes directed by the Integrated Care Board (ICB). Patients excluded from this service include those who are not registered with a GP within the Fylde and Wyre area, those who are housebound, and patients who are undergoing or require VAC therapy, larvae therapy, or Doppler assessments.
