Senior Out of Hours Practitioner

Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity based with our Out of Hour's team at Manchester Royal Infirmary ORC for a Senior Nurse Practitioner.

The post is a key leadership and management role at a senior level and you will need to exercise higher levels of judgement, discretion and decision making in clinical care demonstrated through the Trust competency framework (Out of Hours).

The post holder will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the delivery of high standards of care, trust values and improvement work while leading the Out of Hours Team.

The post holder will provide a senior nurse presence and support to all clinical areas in the Out of Hours Period Nights and weekend days included.

Main duties of the job
Do you have what it takes to provide specialist expertise and advice demonstrating a sound understanding of the issues related to the identification, assessment, treatment and management of the client group.

Respond to the deteriorating patient as part of the MDT team and as part of the cardiac arrest team. Support the development of junior staff in managing acutely ill patients. Demonstrate and practice extended skills.

You will work closely with all specialities to deliver excellent patient centred care.

You will monitor and improve standards of care through, supervision of practice, clinical audit, evidence based practice, teaching and supporting professional colleagues and the provision of skilled professional leadership, contribute to the clinical effectiveness agenda within the service by undertaking audit and research as part of the MDT within the specialist field.

What is a DBS Check?

• Standard DBS : Checks for spent and unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands, and final warnings.

The Costs for a DBS
At Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT), roles that require a DBS check are subject to a cost recovery policy. This means that the cost of submitting and processing a DBS application if you are successful and join us, will be deducted from your salary within the first three months of employment. If, however, you withdraw from a conditional offer after the DBS process has begun, you will still be liable for the cost incurred.
