Asbestos Removal Supervisor

The successful candidate must have at a least 1 year working as an Asbestos Supervisor and at least 2 years’ experience Asbestos removal experience. You will also need to have a CSCS card. Please do not apply for this role if you do not meet this requirements.

Job Summary

Smiths are a fully HSE licensed asbestos removal contractor and have been providing clients the highest standard of asbestos removal services for 20+ years. We are now looking for experienced Asbestos Removal Supervisors to join our existing teams.

Details:

• This is hands on role; it is not a clean hands job.

• This is a permanent full time PAYE position.

• You must be prepared to work as part of the team.

• Hourly rate: £16-£19 per hour (dependent on experience and level)

• Hours: 42.5 plus hours per week

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Site set up of documentation and physical set up of site.

• Supervision and leadership of team of operatives.

• Maintenance of accurate and timely site records

• Site housekeeping

Liaison with:

• Asbestos Manager

• Asbestos Administrator

• The Public

• Site Management

• The Client

• HSE Inspectors

• Sub-contractors

Hands-on Supervising:

• Positioning and setting up the decontamination unit

• Positioning NPU's, generators and other equipment

• Securing and sealing waste skip

• Building air and bag locks

• Maintaining the integrity and sheeting of the enclosure

• Fixing transit route and warning signs/tape.

• Checking personal RPE prior to each shift

• Smoke testing

• Setting up and maintaining negative pressure

• Removal of asbestos

• Preparing for a 4-Stage clearance

• Updating Asbestos Manager on progress of works and any issues as they arise.

• Ordering and receiving plant and materials.

• Adherence to Health and Safety legislation.

You will be required to work within a small team and be familiar with the current HSE regulations CAR2012 and other Health and Safety rules and be able to ensure that assigned works are carried out within the deadlines, safely and efficiently.

Qualifications and Skills:

• At a least 1 Year working as an Asbestos Supervisor

• At least 2 years’ experience Asbestos removal experience

• CSCS card

• Full UK driving license
