Level 2 Teaching Assistant (SEND - Communication & Interaction (C&I) - St John The Baptist Primary School

We require a passionate and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team with a primary focus on Inclusion and SEND provision.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our SEND Unit (Specialist Provision), supporting pupils with a high level of Communication and Interaction need. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about inclusive education and has experience working with children who require additional support to access learning and develop social communication skills.

Key responsibilities:

• Support pupils with C&I needs in accessing the curriculum
• Understand and respond to children’s individual needs
• Promote communication, engagement, and independence under teacher guidance
• Regulate behaviour positively using agreed strategies
• Work closely with teaching staff, SENCO, and external professionals

• Has experience working with children with C&I/SEND needs
• Is committed to inclusive practice and high expectations
• Demonstrates patience, empathy, and resilience
• Communicates effectively and works well in a team
