About Community Integrated Care
Community Integrated Care is one of the UK’s largest health and social care charities. We transform lives by delivering high-quality, person-centred support that fosters independence and empowerment.
Our charity was founded in 1988 and we were one of the pioneers of the ‘Care in the Community’ agenda, enabling people to move out of long-stay institutions and live more fulfilling lives.
Since then, we’ve remained leaders in social care, providing bespoke support to thousands across the UK. Today, we support more than 2,600 people and employ 6,600 caring and committed colleagues across England and Scotland.
We have a proud history of breaking boundaries and are always looking for new ways to make a positive difference through bold ideas, innovative projects and impactful partnerships.
About You
You'll be supporting a diverse group of adults aged between their late 20s and early 60s who live within a supported living community on the outskirts of Winchester. The people we support have a range of needs, including autism, learning disabilities, mental health conditions, Prader-Willi Syndrome and mobility needs, but what they all share is a desire to live as independently and positively as possible.
This is a service full of ambition, personality and opportunity. The people who live here are proud of their independence and are continually working towards personal goals, whether that's developing cooking skills, becoming more involved in their local community, improving confidence, furthering their education, or simply trying something new.
Life here is varied and person-led. One day might involve supporting someone to attend a community activity, enjoy a walk around the local area, go bowling or visit the cinema. Another day could involve helping someone learn new life skills, enjoy arts and crafts, prepare a meal, or spend time with friends in the communal areas.
The service consists of two supported living houses, each with four self-contained flats and shared communal spaces where people come together to enjoy meals, socialise, play games, get creative, and build friendships. There is also a spacious outdoor area where people enjoy gardening and outdoor activities.
The people we support describe themselves as fun, outgoing, ambitious and positive. They value staff who are kind, trustworthy, patient and proactive; people who encourage them to achieve their goals, explore new opportunities, and build confidence in their everyday lives.
Based in a peaceful area of Winchester with excellent access to local amenities, public transport, community facilities and beautiful outdoor spaces, this is a fantastic opportunity to support people to live active and fulfilling lives while becoming part of a friendly and welcoming team.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting people to develop independence and daily living skills
- Building positive relationships and encouraging confidence
- Supporting people to access community activities and opportunities
- Assisting with personal care, wellbeing and medication where required
- Encouraging participation in hobbies, interests and social activities
- Promoting choice, dignity and person-centred support
- Working as part of a supportive team to achieve positive outcomes
- Supporting people to work towards their personal goals and aspirations
