The Role
As an English Graduate, you may work as a:
- Teaching Assistant
- Literacy Support Assistant
- Academic Mentor
- Reading Intervention Tutor
- SEND Teaching Assistant
- Learning Support Assistant
- Inclusion Support Assistant
You'll gain invaluable experience by:
- Supporting students on a one-to-one and small-group basis.
- Delivering literacy and reading interventions.
- Helping students improve their reading, writing and communication skills.
- Supporting learners with SEND, Autism (ASC), ADHD and additional learning needs.
- Encouraging confidence and engagement within lessons.
- Supporting students to overcome barriers to learning.
- Working alongside teachers, SEND teams and pastoral staff.
- Building positive relationships that promote academic progress and personal development.
- Helping students develop a love of learning and confidence in their abilities.

We're Looking For
- A degree in English Literature, English Language, Creative Writing or a related subject.
- A genuine passion for supporting young people.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A positive, patient and adaptable approach.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- A commitment to helping students achieve their potential.
- Previous experience working with young people is desirable but not essential.
