Small animal vet vacancy -surgeical bias - Staffordshire - lovely team
£22.8 - £26.4 per hourEstimated
My Client in Staffordshire is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon with a strong interest in surgery to become part of its established and welcoming practice. The position would suit a clinician eager to further develop their surgical expertise, with an interest in orthopaedics considered an advantage. Working alongside the Partner, who brings a strong focus on medicine—the successful candidate would complement the practice by enhancing its surgical capabilities.
The successful applicant would join a supportive and close-knit team comprising the Partner, a Head Veterinary Nurse, a Registered Veterinary Nurse, a Veterinary Care Assistant, and two Client Care Assistants. Together, the team is committed to delivering high-quality, personalised care to a loyal client base. The practice is well-equipped, featuring digital x-ray, ultrasound, in-house laboratory facilities, and a dedicated preparation and theatre area.
The role includes one day of sole charge each week, requiring confidence in clinical decision-making while still benefiting from strong team support. There are also excellent opportunities for career progression, including access to clinical communities and funded development such as certificate study.
This is a full-time role of 40 hours per week, with a planned weekend rota of one in three Saturdays from 09:00 to 14:00. The practice places strong emphasis on professional growth and aims to support career development in line with individual clinical interests.
