Bring your residential childcare experience to a team where it matters.
Homes for Support is recruiting experienced Residential Children’s Support Workers for our established children’s homes and two new, specialist solo complex-care provisions , pending registration.
Whether your experience is in children’s residential care, therapeutic care or supporting young people with emotional and behavioural needs, this is an opportunity to use your practice skills to help create safe, stable and genuinely nurturing homes.
Our opportunities
Complex care solo provisions: Two new specialist homes designed around one child’s individual needs, with enhanced support, therapeutic practice and carefully planned routines.
Residential childcare homes: Established homes supporting two to six children and young people in a warm, structured and child-centred environment.
What you will bring
You understand that behaviour is communication. You can build relationships, maintain boundaries and remain calm during challenging moments.
You will have experience of:
Working in residential childcare or a similar children’s care setting.
Supporting children through distress, dysregulation and challenging behaviour.
Following care plans, risk assessments and behaviour-support strategies.
Safeguarding children and recording concerns accurately.
Completing high-quality, factual daily records.
Working consistently as part of a shift team.
Supporting routines, education, appointments, family time and activities.
Using reflective practice and responding positively to feedback.
The role
Build trusted, professional relationships with children and young people.
Provide trauma-informed, therapeutic and individualised care.
Support children to feel safe, valued and able to make progress.
Help create ordinary, positive childhood experiences: meals, hobbies, celebrations, days out and new skills.
Maintain calm, clear and safe boundaries.
Contribute confidently to handovers, team meetings and reflective practice.
Work closely with colleagues and partner professionals.
Why Homes for Support?
Competitive pay from £26,443.50 (plus sleep-in's £5,475), overtime and additional-shift opportunities.
Paid annual leave that increases with service.
Company sick pay and compassionate leave.
A 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme from day one for you and eligible adults in your household.
Health Cash Plan after six months for eligible employees.
Specialist training, regular supervision and reflective practice.
Clear opportunities for development and progression.
Loyalty rewards, milestone celebrations and additional annual leave after five years.
This work is demanding as well as rewarding. You may support children who communicate distress through verbal or physical aggression, property damage, risk-taking behaviour or difficulty accepting boundaries. Your experience, professionalism and ability to stay regulated will make a real difference.
See the child, not just the behaviour. Bring your experience to Homes for Support - apply today.
