Permanent | Monday-Friday | 07:30-16:30

We're working with a well-established engineering business in the rail sector that's expanding and looking to appoint a Production Engineer to support their growing operation.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys improving processes, streamlining workflow and keeping production running efficiently across both workshop and mobile engineering teams.

The role

As Production Engineer, you'll take ownership of planning, improving and controlling production activity, ensuring work is delivered safely, on time and to the required quality standard. Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning daily workloads across departments and engineering teams
  • Allocating labour to maximise output and efficiency
  • Reducing downtime and removing workflow bottlenecks
  • Driving continuous improvement and lean initiatives
  • Providing technical support around coatings, repairs and surface preparation
  • Ensuring work meets customer specifications and quality requirements
  • Supporting safety and compliance including RAMS, COSHH and best practice
  • Coordinating equipment maintenance and identifying tooling improvements
  • Liaising with customers and project teams on technical requirements
About you

We're keen to speak with candidates who have:

  • Experience in production / process engineering
  • Knowledge of coatings, blasting, surface prep and/or workshop operations
  • Exposure to lean / continuous improvement methods
  • Strong planning, communication and problem-solving skills
