An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Endoscopy Unit at Manchester Royal Infirmary for an Endoscopy Sister/Charge Nurse. You should be a dynamic and experienced senior nurse with specific knowledge and skills of working in Endoscopy. We pride in treating each of our patients with respect and providing the best possible care every time. We consistently receive excellent feedback for the quality of our service and work with our patients to identify ways to further improve our service. From admission to discharge, we aim to provide a quality service to promote a smooth and safe recovery for all our patients. All patients will be respected as individuals, acknowledging cultural and religious beliefs and age. By providing a pleasant, friendly and informative environment, our patients' will be encouraged to openly express their needs and fears. Endoscopic procedures will be carried out by Endoscopists who are adequately trained and deemed competent to the recommended standard approved by JAG and BSG National Guidelines for Practice. As a Sister/Charge Nurse you will be responsible for co-ordinating on a day to day basis, assist in complex endoscopy procedures, planning, problem solving, using electronic rostering and staff allocations. As an expert in endoscopy you will be able to disseminate your knowledge and skills to the wider endoscopy workforce helping to maintain high standards of nursing care for our patients. Applications are invited from motivated and innovative nurses keen to be part of the development of our Endoscopy service. With access to 5 procedure rooms including a fluoroscopy room, our procedures are varied and diverse and include diagnostics and therapeutics in gastroscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, PEG insertion, ERCP/Spyglass, EBUS, HALO, Double Balloon Enteroscopy, EUS/FNA and BRAVO. We also host the NHS Bowel Cancer Screening Programme so there is a real range of specialisms to develop your skills and experience.
