About the Role
This is an exciting time to join Surrey County Council's Children with Disabilities Service as we continue to embed the Family Safeguarding model to improve outcomes for our children. Working closely with colleagues in Education and Health, the Children with Disabilities Service aims to safeguard and promote the welfare and development of disabled children, whilst supporting them to be cared for by their families at home. The teams are made up of Family Support Workers and two team managers, one for the East and one for the West . We provide families with support to manage the care of children with severe and permanent disabilities.
As a Family Support Worker you will work directly with children and their families to assess and review their needs on a six-monthly basis, identifying packages of support to assist them. You will be conducting home visits, reviewing care packages across a multidisciplinary network and presenting families' needs to request packages of support.

- A commitment to working with children to improve the quality of their lives
- The ability to plan, manage, and prioritise a caseload
