Are you an experienced procurement professional ready to take the next step in your career? We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established organisation seeking a Category Manager to join their procurement team on a hybrid basis in Oxford.
This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of category and sourcing strategies, build and maintain effective supplier relationships, and ensure procurement activity remains compliant with relevant legislation. You'll play an important role in delivering value for money across a varied portfolio of categories.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and deliver effective category and sourcing strategies.
* Manage complex procurement projects from initial planning through to contract award.
* Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, ensuring quality, value, and performance.
* Review market data to identify cost-saving opportunities and support ongoing improvements.
* Monitor supplier and contract performance, ensuring compliance with procurement regulations.
* Prepare reports and provide procurement updates to senior stakeholders.
* Contribute to wider procurement projects and deputise for the Head of Procurement when required. About You * MCIPS qualified or currently working towards Levels 5 & 6.
* Proven experience managing and delivering complex procurement projects.
* Previous procurement experience within the public and/or commercial sectors.
* Strong knowledge of procurement legislation, regulations, and compliance.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with strong supplier negotiation abilities.
* Confident analysing data, preparing reports, and presenting information to senior leadership.
* Highly organised with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
