Please note - this post is a fixed term post and will end on 2 February 2027 The post is based with the Hambleton and Richmondshire Memory Service a service for the assessment and management of cognitive disorders (working age adults and Older Adults) You will work within a Community Mental Health Team for older people assessing and treating Functional and Organic Mental Disorders. Work will involve attendance at Out Patient Clinics and home visits as directed by the supervising consultant. Main duties of the job

- Assess and manage common psychiatric emergencies and conditions - including competent dementia assessment and perform suicide risk assessment.
- Be aware of the procedures for assessment and implementation of detaining /admitting patients under the Mental Health Act.
- Make appropriate referral to other professionals.
- Work with colleagues within the multi-disciplinary setting
- Participate in the resident doctor on-call rota
