Job Description

As technology continues to reshape the economy, society and boardroom, the IoD is committed to providing practical insight, thought leadership and policy influence on the issues that matter most to directors and businesses. The Head of AI and Technology Policy will:

· Lead the IoD's work on technology, digital and Artificial Intelligence (AI) policy at a pivotal moment for business and government.

· Translate technological developments into practical insights and policy positions relevant to boards, directors and business leaders. The role is focused primarily on AI and Technology, particularly from the perspective of board governance, business adoption and policy development towards a favourable policy environment for directors.

· Act as the IoD's advisor on AI and technology policy, helping to shape the organisation's positions on key issues affecting directors and businesses, while representing the IoD across government, industry and the wider AI & technology ecosystem.

· Combine policy work, thought leadership and stakeholder engagement as well as organisational influence. The postholder will work across the IoD to ensure that technology and AI insights support member value, professional development and broader organisational objectives.

The Successful Applicant

· Knowledge of Technology/AI policy issues (highly desirable)

· Or experience of working in a highly regulated policy sector with demonstrable experience of picking up new policy areas

· Experience producing high-quality policy analysis, reports or thought leadership Ability to represent an organisation confidently in public-facing environments.

· Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.

· Ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving and evolving policy environment

· Understanding of board governance and director responsibilities highly desirable

· Experience engaging with senior stakeholders across government, business or industry.

· A genuine passion for the opportunity's technology and AI can bring to the productivity and economic prosperity of business and the wider UK economy

What’s on Offer

· Full time contract (12 months)

· £60,000 - £70,000 PA DOE

· 116 Pall Mall, London, SW1Y 5ED and/Hybrid
