Media Studies Department:
The Media Studies department is a forward-thinking and engaging area of the curriculum, offering students the opportunity to explore a wide range of media forms, platforms and industries. The department is well resourced with access to digital technology, editing software and up-to-date media texts, enabling students to develop both theoretical understanding and practical production skills.

Teaching within the department focuses on media analysis, representation, audience theory and creative coursework production. Students are encouraged to think critically about media influence while developing strong written, evaluative and technical skills. Media Studies is a popular subject with strong uptake at GCSE and A Level, supported by a clear curriculum structure and a strong focus on exam success.

Requirements
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Media Studies or a related discipline
• Experience teaching Media Studies at secondary level
• Strong theoretical and practical subject knowledge
• Familiarity with GCSE (A Level desirable)
• Excellent organisational and classroom management skills
• Commitment to student achievement, creativity and inclusion
