About the Role

The successful candidate will oversee attendance monitoring and follow-up procedures, working closely with pupils, parents and school staff to promote regular attendance. You will help identify concerns early, maintain accurate records and support the school in addressing barriers that may affect pupils’ access to education.

Key responsibilities include:

• Monitoring daily attendance and maintaining accurate records.

• Contacting parents and carers to follow up on unexplained absences.

• Identifying patterns of absence and persistent non-attendance.

• Working with pastoral staff to develop and monitor attendance support plans.

• Supporting attendance meetings and liaising with external agencies where appropriate.

• Preparing reports and updating school management systems.

• Handling confidential information sensitively and professionally.
