An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and committed Art Teacher to join a prestigious and high-achieving mixed secondary school in York. This is a full-time, permanent position starting January 2026 , ideal for a teacher passionate about creativity and visual arts education.

The Role

As an Art Teacher, you will:

• Teach engaging and challenging lessons across KS3–KS5 , enabling students to achieve their full creative potential

• Contribute to the continued success of a well-resourced and highly regarded Art department

• Support students in developing a genuine passion for Art, including participation in exhibitions and enrichment activities

• Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain the school’s excellent standards of teaching, learning, and behaviour

Candidate Requirements

We are looking for a teacher who is:

• A qualified Art Teacher with QTS (PGCE or equivalent)

• A confident and inspiring classroom practitioner

• Able to engage and motivate students of all abilities

• Enthusiastic about contributing to the wider life of the school

• Legally able to work in the UK

Salary

• Paid to scale on MPS / UPS , commensurate with experience
