We are currently ranked as the number one performing college for progress at KS5 in the borough and within a 132km radius We are proud of our recent Ofsted inspection 2026 which recognises the school as dedicated to creating a positive future for every pupil. Established in 2013 and located in the heart of historical Darwen on the edge of the West Pennine Moors, the Studio is the town’s best kept secret. Focussed on nurturing talent in students and staff across core and creative subjects and improving the life chances of every student. As a small school with a maximum of 250 students, we offer a unique opportunity to work in a state of the art, iconic and historic building as part of a small cohesive team of staff. About the Role: Join Our Team as a Science Technician! Are you organised, practical, and passionate about science? We're looking for a dedicated Science Technician to play a key role in supporting our vibrant science department. In this rewarding role, you'll prepare equipment, chemicals, and materials for practical lessons, maintain laboratories and resources to a high standard, support teachers and students during experiments, ensure health and safety regulations are followed, and assist with ordering and managing laboratory supplies. Your contribution will help create a safe, engaging, and inspiring learning environment where students can develop their scientific knowledge through hands-on experiences. What We're Looking For

  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous laboratory or school experience is desirable but not essential.
