Consultant in Rheumatology

We have been assigned by one of the UK's more prestigious NHS Trusts to help them recruit a Consultant in Rheumatology on either a Substantive or an NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months to join their successful Medicine department.

The successful appointee will be asked to undertake various duties within the department, these include: post holder will be expected to provide support for the specialist nurses and junior trainees. There will be opportunities to participate in clinical research and to teach medical undergraduate students, The Rheumatology clinics include general Rheumatology clinics, Early Arthritis Clinics (with access to MSK ultrasound), Rheumatology Hot Clinics and telephone clinics. The traditional clinic template includes 2 x 30 min new appointments, 1x 30 min flare appointment and 6x 15 min follow ups. Current templates are subject to change in line with IPC guidance and Covid recovery plans. All remaining rheumatology consultants will continue to see inpatient referrals unless admitted to the rheumatology medical ward, where the case load will be shared. The post holder will also participate in clinical pathway development or development of specialist services such as vasculitis or connective tissue disease
