Position: High School Deputy Principal

Question 1: Why are you interested in serving as a HS Deputy Principal at SAS? Drawing on the position description, identify one aspect of the role you feel prepared for and one area that would require continued growth. Explain the experiences and evidence informing your assessment.

Question 2: Describe a significant improvement or change initiative that you led. What need or inequity were you seeking to address? How did you engage community members, use evidence to guide decisions, and assess the initiative’s impact? What did you learn from the experience?

Question 3: Describe a specific educator, PLC, or collaborative team whose capacity you helped develop. What did you initially notice, what evidence informed your approach, and what actions did you personally take over time? Include an example of feedback, a question, or a leadership move you used, and explain what changed (or did not change) as a result.

Question 4: Using an anonymized example, describe a complex situation in which you helped support a student or group of students experiencing significant academic, behavioral, or well-being needs. What competing needs, values, or perspectives did you have to navigate? Explain your specific role, how you coordinated with others, the decisions you made, and what remained unresolved after your intervention.
