Roseberry Ward is a 15 bedded, mixed sex functional ward. Whether you're an experienced Registered Nurse or a Newly Registered Nurse, this is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a service that puts patient care first. You will have the time and support to make a real difference every day. Student Nurse's that are due to register in the next 3 months are very welcome to apply. Full training and Preceptorship programme will be provided to help you build confidence and develop your career in this specialist area. This role may be eligible for sponsorship under the UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI) Skilled Worker route. However, sponsorship can only be provided where applicants meet the specific requirements, therefore, we recommend that you assess your eligibility before applying for this position. As a Staff Nurse on Roseberry Ward, you will work alongside a team of nurses, healthcare assistants, psychologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and other members of the MDT as part of a large multi-disciplinary team approach striving towards excellent patient care. You will be expected to carry out all aspects of patient care including medication, one to one time with patients, observations including physical health observations, co-ordination of the shift and depending on experience, nurse in charge. We offer a full induction process and training to ensure you have the required confidence, knowledge and skills for this role. Each inpatient ward is fully equipped with activity and therapeutic spaces to enable patients to recover in a timely way so that they can be safely discharged back to their usual place of residence. Roseberry Ward is situated within Bowes Lyon Unit on the Lanchester Road Hospital site. The hospital has numerous vocational and therapeutic areas in a friendly, caring and therapeutic environment. We will support you by offering regular supervision, training opportunities and encourage your development and role within this developing team on the delivery of Patient Centred Care, support for carers and evidence based practice. Qualifications
- Current professional registration with Nursing & Midwifery Council RNMH or RNLD
- To be recognised practice assessor / mentor or work towards in an agreed timescale
- Trained Clinical Supervisor (within 6 month probationary period)
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
- Working with people with mental ill health.
- Working in a person centred therapeutic organisation
- Working in an inpatient environment
- Working collaboratively with service users and their families/carers
- Working in a multi-disciplinary team
- Working in partnership with other agencies
- Evidenced based knowledge of best practice in caring for patients in the designated field.
- Clinical Risk Assessment and Management and its application in practice.
- Clinical Governance and its application in practice.
- Communicate complex and sensitive information effectively to patients, carers/families and all members of the multidisciplinary team
- Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Manage own time and prioritise effectively
- Co-ordinate and prioritise the activities of the ward/community team
- Motivate and work positively and assertively with other members of the team
- Undertake lead professional/care co-ordinator responsibilities (following probationary period)
- Provide (following probationary period) effective teaching, training and clinical supervision.
- Use approved techniques in physical intervention (following training)
