Van Conversion Technician, Doncaster

This role offers a Monday to Thursday working week , leaving you to enjoy a 3 day weekend.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Preparation of vehicles for installation of various vehicle-based equipment.
• Working from drawings and using own initiative to carry out the conversion to the specifications.
• Installation of:
  • Ply lining kits.
  • Floors and false floors.
  • Roof racks.
  • Internal vehicle racking and any other storage equipment, units and boxed areas.
  • Seating and similar vehicle-based equipment into light commercial vehicles.
  • Equipment onto bare chassis to help build tippers, flatbeds, box vans and other types of vehicles.
• Cutting Aluminium and other items.
• Measuring, drilling and preparation of equipment for installation.
• Some electrical work will be required and trained.
• General upkeep of the workshop and premises to aid with the smooth running of the workshop and conversion of vehicles.
• Ad hoc duties as and when required. Customer requested fitments.

Experience and Skills:

• Accuracy in all tasks and measurements. Installations should be to a high standard.
• Flexible as the work can be varied.
• Have own basic hand tools and also be able to look after and care for any company tooling and equipment used.
• Effective communication and positive relations with employees at all levels within the organisation and external contacts including customers and suppliers.
• Be competent at working alone or as part of a team.
• Experience in a similar field would be of benefit but not necessary as in-house training can be given.
