Overview

A new luxury private surgical hospital is opening in Cheshire, close to Knutsford and Altrincham, on 1 December 2026. The unit has one operating theatre running general anaesthetic lists, a recovery area and three inpatient beds, alongside an established aesthetics clinic.

Work is planned elective surgery, including cosmetic and plastic procedures, starting at around three cases a day and building to around 30 a week. Shifts are booked roughly a week in advance. We are building a small, consistent bank of staff so patients see familiar faces. Every candidate is screened by us, then has a short video call with the clinical manager before booking, and completes the clinic induction (video tour, policies and procedures) before their first shift.

Responsibilities

• Anaesthetic support: preparing equipment and drugs and assisting the anaesthetist through induction, maintenance and emergence on GA lists
• Scrub and recovery duties as needed in a single theatre unit
• Swab, sharps and instrument counts and the WHO Surgical Safety Checklist
• Daily equipment and anaesthetic machine checks
• Decontamination and theatre housekeeping in line with infection control policy

Requirements

• Live HCPC registration as an Operating Department Practitioner with no conditions
• Recent anaesthetics experience; scrub and recovery experience an advantage
• Cosmetic or plastic surgery experience desirable
• ILS in date (ALS desirable)
• Enhanced DBS, right to work in the UK, two professional references, mandatory training and immunisations in date (or willing to complete with us)
