Brief Description
As a Heavy Vehicle Service & Maintenance Technician Apprentice, you will learn how to inspect, maintain, diagnose, and repair heavy vehicles and specialist equipment. Working alongside experienced technicians, you will gain valuable hands-on experience while studying towards a nationally recognised Level 3 qualification.

Training

You will work towards the Heavy Vehicle Service & Maintenance Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard.

Training will include:

Practical workplace learning with support from experienced mentors
Online learning, workbooks, job cards, and virtual training sessions during working hours
Block-release training at the Automotive Training Academy in Derby every two months

All travel, accommodation, and meal costs associated with training will be fully covered by World Fuel Services.

Qualifications Required
• No previous automotive qualifications are needed.
• You must have GCSE 9-4 (A* - C) or Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Maths

Skills Required
You will need to be comfortable with a wide range of vehicles such as HGVs, trucks and buses. Being a Heavy Vehicle technician requires a reasonable level of physical strength and stamina.

• An enthusiasm to learn new practical and theoretical skills.
