Retail Assistant

Do you enjoy interacting with customers? Do you love helping others and working as a team? Then we are looking for you! We are seeking a motivated and friendly Retail Assistant to join our team at Pennine Garden Centre .

The purpose of this role is provide GREAT service to all our customers, whilst ensuring that we have exceptional displays and a well-stocked department.

We currently have one shift available:

Sunday: 10:30am-4:00pm

Key Responsibilities:

As a Retail Assistant, you will:

• Deliver a warm welcome and provide excellent customer service at all times
• Offer helpful product advice and recommend suitable solutions
• Keep the shop floor well-stocked, clean, and visually appealing
• Assist with deliveries, including unpacking, labelling, and stocking products
• Create and maintain attractive merchandising displays
• Support customers with deliveries and orders where needed
• Work flexibly across departments to support the wider team
• Follow health & safety guidelines to ensure a safe environment for all
• Handle customer queries or concerns professionally, escalating where needed
• Assist with stock control and stock counts

Skills Knowledge and Expertise:

The ideal Retail Assistant is someone who:

• Ideally has previous customer service experience - but not essential.
• Is willing to develop and learn new skills.
• Is friendly, positive, sociable and approachable.
• Is a strong team player.
• Previous knowledge of retail sales principles and practices is desirable but not essential
• Is flexible to work additional shifts and weekends if required
