Operations Manager

Job Summary:The Operations Manager within our Winterbourne site is responsible for managing Production and  Maintenance areas. Along with the rest of the Plant Leadership Team the Operations Manager is critical in supporting the PGM in the effective plant management, ensuring a drive for excellence approach. The role is vital to the sites safety culture, compliance with company/plant policies & procedures and focus on continuous improvement and innovation. The Operations Manager is vital in aligning the plants objectives and customer requirements.Key Responsibilities:Delivering budget in terms of production volumes, costs, CapexDefining and managing organisational processes and improvements (roles, responsibilities, number of headcounts, shifts, activities), according to company policies and budgetEnsure timely execution of the production plan by optimising capacity to meet demandDefining and verifying the correct KPIs to control processes performanceSupport the optimisation of working capital through the reduction of inventoryDeliver continuous improvement plans for all aspects of the site operationsPromoting Amcor Values within the plantHeightening own team performances, knowledge, and leadershipMaintaining high level of collaboration, motivation, and engagementTaking an active role in the plant’s safety programs and goals, spreading safety cultureSupports the coordination of company functions in the application of the HSE SystemImplementation of safety and health measures in the workplace;Support the development of safety procedures for the various company activities;Support the training and informing workers about Safety issues and responsibilitiesSupports activities related to ISO 14001 and ISO 13485  Strict adherence to the organization’s hygiene rules, understanding the importance of personal hygiene and wearing appropriate protective gear to avoid compromising product quality Excellent knowledge of quality standards , data integrity, and the importance of maintaining product integrity.  Qualifications, Skills & Experience:Proven senior Operations Management experience, gained in a fast paced, highly regulated  manufacturing environmentExperience in packaging is an advantage but not a pre-requisite for the roleExperience of successfully managing significant change / transformation projects within a manufacturing environment.First-hand experience of Lean and continuous improvement methodologies e.g. Six Sigma, Kaizen etc.Degree in a Science, Technology or Engineering subject preferred.Proactive, positive leadership and people skills to ensure alignment with safety culture throughout organizationDemonstrate employee engagement skills in an ongoing effort to create a positive & fulfilling work environment.Assertive problem - solver able to identify gaps and define implementable solutionsGenuine passion to transform manufacturing capabilityOpen, outgoing and team-oriented interpersonal style with strong motivation and facilitation skillsResults-oriented: able to take actions and implement effective solutions in a timely mannerSkilled communicator who is customer orientated with drive and energyAnalytical and structured approachBenefits Private medical Free on site car parkingSubsidised canteenPension schemeReward and discount platformStaff social eventsAbout AmcorAmcor is a global leader in packaging solutions for consumer and healthcare products.
