Care Experience Student Support Worker

At Blackpool and The Fylde College, we’re more than an education provider – we’re a driving force for opportunity, innovation and community growth. As one of the UK’s leading further education colleges and an exempt charity, we deliver high‑quality technical and professional education that transforms lives and supports regional prosperity. With over 12,500 students and around 1,000 colleagues, we’re proud to be an anchor institution driving social mobility, inclusion and success.

The Role

We’re seeking a committed and student‑focused Care Experience Student Support Worker to provide dedicated support to students and apprentices who are in care or from a care experienced background. You’ll play a vital role in removing barriers to education, promoting inclusion, and ensuring each young person can fully engage with college life. Working as part of the Safeguarding and Wellbeing Team, you will support students through personalised plans, multi‑agency collaboration, and consistent pastoral care. Your work will directly contribute to improved attendance, achievement, wellbeing, and a positive college experience.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Act as the main point of contact for care experienced students and apprentices, building strong relationships with carers, social workers, and curriculum teams to provide coordinated, person‑centred support.
  • Develop, review, and contribute to Personal Education Plans (PEPs) and CLA review meetings, setting SMART targets and removing barriers to learning.
  • Provide regular one‑to‑one support to monitor progress, attendance, and wellbeing, including transition support for new students entering college.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential records of interventions and contribute to reports, quality processes, and performance measures.
  • Promote engagement in enrichment, personal development, and wellbeing services while working collaboratively with the Safeguarding and Wellbeing Team and keeping up to date with relevant legislation and best practice.

Interviews will take place week commencing 20th July 2026.
