Financial Reporting Manager

Location: Hook (Hybrid)

The Opportunity

Robert Half is partnering with a well-established and growing organisation to recruit a Financial Reporting Manager . This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong qualified accountant to join a collaborative finance team, leading the financial reporting function while managing and developing a small team.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will take ownership of the month-end reporting process, management accounts, balance sheet integrity, statutory reporting support and financial controls. You'll also play a key role in driving continuous improvement, strengthening reporting processes and partnering with senior stakeholders to provide meaningful financial insight.

This position offers a broad and varied remit, combining technical accounting, team leadership and business partnering within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting

  • Lead the month-end close process and deliver accurate monthly management accounts.
  • Prepare board packs, financial reports and detailed variance analysis.
  • Produce timely reporting with clear commentary and actionable insights.
  • Ensure reporting is accurate, reconciled and supported by robust audit trails.
  • Support Group reporting requirements and reporting deadlines.

Financial Control

  • Own the balance sheet reconciliation process and strengthen financial controls.
  • Oversee intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
  • Review accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, VAT, revenue and other key balance sheet areas.
  • Ensure journals are accurate, appropriately supported and reviewed.
  • Maintain the fixed asset register and prepare VAT returns.

Business Partnering & Planning

  • Support budgeting, forecasting and reforecasting activities.
  • Partner with operational stakeholders to provide commercial insight and improve financial understanding.
  • Deliver meaningful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.

Audit & Compliance

  • Support the year-end audit process and liaise with external auditors.
  • Maintain compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, controls and efficiencies.

Leadership

  • Manage, mentor and develop a team of two finance professionals.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance across the wider finance team.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability and collaboration.

About You

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
  • At least two years' post-qualified experience within Financial Reporting, Group Reporting, Financial Control or Management Accounting.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and month-end reporting experience.
  • Excellent Excel skills with experience using ERP systems.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience within a multi-entity environment is advantageous.
  • SAP, Cognos or similar ERP/reporting system experience is desirable.
  • Big 4 or practice background would be beneficial but is not essential.
