SEND Teaching Assistant - Flexible short-term and long-term opportunities available immediately
These flexible opportunities are ideal for support staff who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different school settings. You will be supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs in Haverhill and the surrounding areas, helping them access learning and build confidence in the classroom.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND
- Assist teachers in delivering differentiated learning activities
- Help implement individual education plans and behaviour strategies
- Support pupils with personal care needs where required
- Promote an inclusive and positive learning environment
- Monitor and record pupil progress and communicate effectively with staff
- Contribute to wider school life during longer-term placements Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant:
- Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND
- Understanding of strategies for supporting needs such as autism, ADHD, and communication difficulties
- Ability to build positive and nurturing relationships with pupils
- Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills
- Adaptability across different classrooms and school environments
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
