Are you confident leading a classroom and keen to support students in their learning? A welcoming secondary school in Doncaster is looking for a reliable Cover Supervisor to join their team from September.

About the Role:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes in the absence of their usual teacher, ensuring students remain focused and continue with the work provided. You will manage classroom behaviour, provide support where needed and help maintain a positive learning environment throughout the school day.

Responsibilities:

* Supervise classes and ensure students complete the work set by teaching staff.

* Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.

* Provide clear instructions and support students with their learning where appropriate.

* Maintain a calm, safe and focused classroom environment.

* Monitor student engagement and address minor issues appropriately.

* Communicate relevant feedback to teaching staff.

* Support the wider school community where required.

Requirements:

* Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.

* Strong classroom management and communication skills.

* A calm, confident and organised approach.

* Ability to establish positive relationships with students.

* Ability to follow lesson plans and provide appropriate support.

* A genuine commitment to supporting pupils and maintaining high expectations.

To work with GSL Education as a Cover Supervisor, you should:

* Have the right to work in the UK.

* Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

* Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.

Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.

We also offer, via our partner, access to accredited Education-relevant CPD courses.
