Quality Inspector

Moughton Engineering are looking to recruit the following –

Quality Inspector

Reporting directly to the QHSE Manager with additional, as required, reporting to company Directors.

Understand quality within a busy fabrication/machined part work environment. Ability to clearly communicate quality issues to the QHSE Manager, Directors and employees. Assist with motivating individuals to improve their workmanship.

Understanding of the ISO9001:2008 standard and management systems along with ability to read and understand drawings. Liaising with customers to ensure their requirements are fulfilled. Ideally faro arm, shadow graph and inspection related equipment use. The ability to work as part of a team and pro-actively move the quality department forward to ensure products are to the required standards our customers expect.

Responsibilities:

  • Work to all company policies and procedures including health & safety, environment and quality.
  • Capable of inspecting high quality precision machined and fabricated parts.
  • Participate in any required training and risk assessments.
  • Assisting the QHSE Manager in promoting quality performance and improvement throughout the company.
  • Working closely with the Inspection teams and QHSE Manager to ensure quality systems are adequate, implemented and audited.
  • Able to read and understand drawings and interrupt these into the finish items.
  • Ideally have working knowledge in the use of faro arm, shadow graph and other inspection related equipment.
  • Implement, communicate and maintain a quality plan to bring the Company’s quality systems and policies into compliance with quality system requirements.
  • Effectively interact with Production and Development teams to maintain product quality from concept to supply.
  • Working with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers.
  • Ensuring compliance with national and international standards and any relevant legislation.
  • Ensuring quality testing and procedures are properly understood and carried out.
  • Maintain the Company’s quality inspection and product release programs for incoming and in-process materials and components, processes and finished goods.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures and systems pertaining to the QA/QC.
  • Assisting with product specifications of the company and its suppliers and comparing with customer requirements.
  • Assisting with setting up and maintaining quality controls and documentation procedures.
  • Liaising with customers, external and internal auditors and assisting with the execution of corrective action and compliance with internal and customers specifications.
  • Assisting with the delivery of finished products to the customers as required.
  • Liaising with customers in relation to quality issues and requirements.
  • Ensure all measuring equipment throughout the company is maintained and calibrated to the required standards and documentation kept up to date.
  • Liaison with the Stores Supervisor to assist with QA requirements for raw and finished items moving through the stores.

These functions are not exhaustive, and you may be required to undertake other functions as befitting a Quality Inspector role. There may also be times when work circumstances may require additional hours to be worked including when required restructures to the working week.

There may, depending on operational downtrends, be a requirement for you to move from your current role to another following discussions and agreement by both sides.

The above position offers a basic 38 hour week (early finish on a Friday) 23 days annual holiday allowance, excluding Bank Holidays + birthday leave + wellbeing day + Christmas Eve, contributory pension scheme, life insurance and occupational health screening.
