Academics are working with a leading specialist school in Bletchley that is expanding its provision and looking to appoint a number of enthusiastic SEMH Teaching Assistants to join their growing team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who may not have previous experience working within an SEMH setting. Prior experience is not essential — the school is looking for individuals with the right attitude, a willingness to learn and a genuine passion for helping young people succeed.
The Role
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with experienced teachers and support staff to help learners overcome the barriers that can prevent them from engaging with education.
You will support pupils both in the classroom and during wider school activities, helping them to:
* Develop confidence and self-esteem
* Manage emotions and behaviour
* Build positive relationships with staff and peers
* Engage with learning and develop their academic skills
* Develop independence and resilience
* Overcome barriers to learning and make positive progress
You will receive support and guidance from the school's experienced team, making this an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a specialist educational environment.
What We Are Looking For
The school is open to candidates from a range of backgrounds. You do not need previous SEMH or specialist school experience.
They are particularly interested in people who have:
* A genuine passion for supporting young people
* A patient, calm and resilient approach
* Strong communication skills
* A willingness to learn and develop
* The ability to build positive relationships with learners
* A positive attitude and a commitment to making a difference
Experience working with children, young people, education, care, sports, youth work or similar environments would be beneficial but is not essential.
Why Apply?
This is an exciting opportunity to join a school that is expanding its provision and investing in its team.
You will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience working with young people with SEMH needs, develop your understanding of specialist education and build a rewarding career in education.
Academics are acting as an employment agency for this vacancy.
If you are passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and think you could make a difference, we'd love to hear from you.
