Data & Reporting Analyst

Robert Half are working with a well-established organisation based in the Slough area to recruit a Data & Reporting Analyst into their small IT team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a data-savvy, commercially minded analyst who wants more ownership than simply producing reports. You'll play a key role in turning operational data into meaningful insight, helping senior stakeholders understand performance and, importantly, identifying when something doesn't look right.

The role will suit someone who combines strong Power BI capability with curiosity, intuition and the confidence to challenge the numbers.

The Role

You'll be responsible for bringing together data from multiple systems, developing intuitive Power BI dashboards and providing analysis that supports operational and strategic decision-making.

A key part of the role will be interpreting the data rather than simply presenting it. You'll be expected to spot unusual trends, inconsistencies and potential issues, investigate further and flag findings to the relevant stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports
• Collect, validate and combine data from multiple systems and sources
• Analyse operational data to identify trends, anomalies and areas for improvement
• Investigate discrepancies and use analytical judgement to identify potential issues
• Produce regular and ad-hoc reporting for management
• Translate complex data into clear, commercially relevant insight
• Work with stakeholders across the business to understand reporting requirements
• Support improvements to reporting, data quality and business processes
• Help develop better ways of using data and technology across the organisation

About You

We're looking for someone who is genuinely interested in data and enjoys getting under the skin of what the numbers are telling them.

You'll ideally have:

• Previous experience in a Data Analyst, Reporting Analyst, BI Analyst or similar role
• Strong hands-on Power BI experience
• Good Excel skills and confidence working with multiple data sets
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and a naturally inquisitive approach
• The confidence to question data and investigate when something doesn't look right
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain findings to non-technical stakeholders
• SQL experience would be advantageous

As the role sits within the IT team, a general interest in technology is also highly desirable. This could come from exposure to application development, networking, systems or a previous help-desk/technical support environment.
