Principal Pricing Development Analyst
• Play a key role shaping pricing models and influencing business decisions within NFU Mutual’s Pricing Development teams
• Work across our full pricing lifecycle with opportunities to develop your expertise and mentor others
• Hybrid working on offer – spend up to 80% of your time working from home, with 20% of your time spent working at our Head Office in Stratford-upon-Avon
About the role
Working in Pricing at NFU Mutual feels genuinely different. With a clear focus on customers rather than shareholders, the team’s work has real impact — supporting local communities, protecting livelihoods, and helping our UK‑wide Agency Network deliver exceptional service. Our Pricing team is central to how we support our customers, and its role is becoming even more crucial. The team is now at the heart of one of NFU Mutual’s most significant transformation programmes, shaping how pricing will operate in the future to ensure fair, insight‑driven outcomes.
To deliver this transformation, the team is expanding and creating exciting opportunities to join at a pivotal moment. This is a rare chance to influence a high‑profile, business‑wide initiative where your work will be visible, valued and acted on. By working closely with colleagues across the business, you’ll play an important role in shaping NFU Mutual’s future. Beyond the transformation, you’ll join a Pricing team committed to continuous improvement, offering ongoing opportunities to grow, add value and make a real difference. If you want to drive meaningful transformation while developing your own career, now is the ideal time to join us.
As a Principal Pricing Development Analyst, you’ll take on a key technical position within our Head Office Pricing division, helping to drive innovation, explore new techniques and improve pricing performance.
Sitting within our Pricing Development team of around eight specialists, you’ll complete behavioural modelling, and research, development and innovation tasks across the full pricing lifecycle, acting as a technical expert, supporting the development and implementation of new pricing models and rating approaches that directly influence business outcomes.
You’ll design, build and continually improve models and analytics, using advanced statistical techniques and data science methods. At the same time, you’ll take ownership of model performance and monitoring, as well as quality control processes and data integrity, ensuring outputs remain accurate, compliant and effective for decision making.
This role will be aligned to our Stratford-upon-Avon offices – with the expectation that you will spend 20% of your time onsite, and up to 80% working from home.
About you
You’re an experienced Data Science and/or Modelling professional with strong technical expertise (ideally within Pricing) and a track record of delivering high quality analytical solutions within a corporate environment such as Financial Services. You’re confident leading complex work, influencing stakeholders & peers, and supporting others to develop, showcasing your own strong, learning mindset
So, to join NFU Mutual, you’ll bring:
• Proven experience in pricing and/or data science modelling within a corporate setting (ideally Financial Services / Insurance)
• Strong technical capability in data analysis and modelling, including tools such as SQL, Python or R
