The Opportunity
As an AV Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for transforming client visions into detailed technical designs that allow projects to be successfully delivered from concept through to handover.
Working closely with sales teams, project managers, engineers, suppliers, and manufacturers, you'll create the technical foundation behind some of the most impressive residential technology installations in the UK.
This is a role for someone who enjoys solving technical challenges, producing exceptional documentation, and seeing their designs brought to life in high-end residential environments.
What You'll Be Doing
- Designing integrated AV, smart home, networking, lighting control and security systems for luxury residential properties
- Producing detailed system schematics and technical drawings
- Creating equipment schedules and comprehensive design documentation
- Preparing accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Conducting site surveys when required
- Working closely with project delivery teams to ensure designs are practical and achievable
- Providing technical support throughout project delivery
- Liaising with manufacturers and suppliers to ensure the most appropriate technologies are specified
- Supporting projects from initial concept through to completion
Are You the Right Fit?
Essential Experience
- Previous experience designing residential AV systems
- Strong understanding of audio-visual technologies
- Knowledge of home automation and control systems
- Good understanding of networking technologies
- Experience using AutoCAD or similar design software
- Strong technical documentation skills
- Excellent organisational and communication abilities
- A passion for delivering high-quality design work
