About The Role
Sulzer Falkirk is a strategic investment site, built to be one of the most advanced rotating equipment service centres in the UK.
That investment is real — bigger machines, heavier lifts, and a 2 MW high‑voltage test bed that lets us fully load‑test motors and generators before they go back to site.
Main Tasks And Responsibilities
- Dismantling, rewinding, rebuilding and testing AC and DC motors, including traction motors
- LV motor rewinds and full electro‑mechanical overhauls
- Strip, clean and prepare stators and armatures for rewinding
- Manufacture and fit coils to original design — random wound and formed coils
- Dip, bake and varnish windings using dip tanks or VPI where required
- Carry out static electrical tests and record results
- Basic mechanical fitting on associated equipment like pumps and gearboxes
What We’re Looking For
- Time‑served Winder, Fitter or Electrical Machine Repair background
- Solid experience stripping, rewinding, assembling and testing AC/DC motors
- Comfortable in a mechanical / electrical workshop environment
- Can read drawings, follow procedures, and work methodically
- Takes pride in quality and doing the job right first time
- Formal qualifications help — hands‑on experience matters more.
