Pursuits Manager

A leading UK law firm is seeking a Pursuits Manager to join its Marketing team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced bids and pursuits professional to support the firm’s most strategic opportunities across the full pursuit lifecycle, from early-stage pipeline development and capture management through to complex live tenders and presentations.

Responsibilities:

• Lead complex, cross-firm strategic tenders, managing the pursuit process and working closely with stakeholders to improve win rates.
• Support capture management and pipeline development for priority opportunities, including early positioning, opportunity qualification, win themes and pursuit planning.
• Develop structured pursuit strategies using competitor analysis, SWOT analysis, stakeholder mapping and market intelligence to strengthen the firm’s positioning.
• Manage key milestones throughout the pursuit lifecycle, from early capture and kick-off through to proposition development, content, design and final production.
• Draft compelling, high-scoring non-technical responses and coach partners and presentation teams ahead of pitches and client interviews.
• Collaborate with Finance, Responsible Business, Innovation and wider Business Services teams to develop commercially strong and differentiated client propositions.
• Drive continuous improvement across pursuit processes, tools and pipeline management, while supporting training, strategic projects and the development of team members.

The Candidate:

• Strong experience managing complex bids, tenders and pursuits, ideally within a law firm or professional services environment, with experience across capture management, pipeline development and live bid delivery.
• Excellent project management, writing and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence and constructively challenge senior stakeholders while translating specialist knowledge into compelling client-facing content.
• A commercially minded, ambitious and resilient individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, with strong relationship-building skills, a structured approach to managing deadlines and a genuine focus on winning and improving pursuit outcomes.
