Experteer Overview As a Radiological Protection Engineer at Torness Power Station, you drive radiological safety and protection standards to support safe operations and decommissioning. You'll work within the Environmental Safety Group to deliver expert guidance, training, and continuous improvement across nuclear safety activities. This on-site role combines technical oversight with regulatory engagement and cross-functional collaboration. You will develop specialist expertise while contributing to EDF's transition toward a low-carbon, electrified energy future. Pay / Benefits
- Provide technical oversight on radiological protection arrangements, including dose assessment, monitoring instrumentation, protective equipment, radioactive material control, and transport. Support radiological protection programmes (dosimetry, dose control, contamination control, risk assessments, ALARP) and ensure alignment with safety standards. Manage specifications, work instructions and control documents to maintain radiological safety. Contribute to radiological protection training and communication programs and share best practices across EDF Nuclear Operations. Build relationships with operational teams, regulators, and external stakeholders; support team plans and continuous improvement initiatives. Tasks Relevant knowledge and experience in radiological protection principles and practices (dosimetry, dose control, contamination control, dose assessment, radiation risk assessment, instrumentation or ALARP). Experience in a highly regulated industry environment. Ability to maintain high standards of nuclear, radiological, environmental, industrial and personal safety. Experience applying technical analysis and decision-making based on written, verbal, and numerical information. Security vetting eligibility and willingness to be on standby for Emergency Scheme Health Physicist role.
