About The Role
Help us to extend our reach!
We are here for anyone affected by dementia and are keen to reach people in all communities, including those who may be more at risk of isolation through language, accessibility needs, identity or background.
You’ll play a crucial role in building and strengthening community links and raising awareness of the services we have available. You’ll take part in events and talk to groups to raise awareness of dementia and to identify people affected by dementia who can share their dementia story with their wider community as well as with us. You’ll also signpost people to access our services.
This flexible, community-based volunteering opportunity is ideal for someone who is actively involved in local groups, clubs, faith organisations, activities, or community networks and would like to help improve support for people affected by dementia.
As a Community Link Volunteer based in Evesham, you will help raise awareness of dementia and the Alzheimer's Society by engaging with local communities, sharing information, and developing relationships with local organisations. You will signpost people living with dementia, their carers, and families to Alzheimer's Society services and other relevant local support.
Volunteers may attend information stands, community events, cafés, support groups, and local talks to provide information, promote available support, and connect people to services. By identifying opportunities for partnership working, you will help strengthen local support networks, improve referral pathways, and increase access to support for those affected by dementia.
Volunteers may also have opportunities to support community projects and initiatives that promote dementia awareness, inclusion, and stronger local connections across Evesham and the surrounding area.
Time Commitment: Flexible, typically a couple of hours per week, with opportunities to support events during weekdays, evenings, and weekends.

•Active within local community groups, clubs, activities, faith organisations, or networks.
•Knowledge of, or connections within, the local community.
•Ability to provide information and confidently signpost people to support services and resources.
•Interest in identifying opportunities for joined-up working and developing relationships between community groups, organisations, and services to improve support for people affected by dementia.
•An interest in community engagement, partnership working, and developing dementia-friendly communities.
•Additional languages are welcomed but not essential.
Previous experience of supporting people affected by dementia would be an advantage; however, this is not essential. Full training, resources, and ongoing support will be provided to help volunteers feel confident and supported in their role.

About Alzheimer's Society
Dementia is the UK's biggest killer. One in three people born in the UK today will develop dementia in their lifetime.
At Alzheimer's Society, we're the UK's leading dementia charity and the only one to tackle all aspects of dementia by giving help and hope to people living with dementia today and in the future. We give vital support to people facing the most frightening times of their lives, while also funding groundbreaking research and campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be.
Together with our supporters, we're working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives.
Our values make sure that our focus is clear for the challenges and opportunities ahead and remind us of what we all stand for.
