Our service addresses the physical, psychological and social consequences of brain injury. Working with the client, family and carers we offer personalised care plans and collaborative goal setting to facilitate enablement and adjustment to promote effective self-management. The speech and language therapy postholder will work embedded within the well-regarded Community Brain Injury Team to provide specialist speech and language therapy assessment and intervention to optimise the communication of the service users.

About us
We are Kent and Medway Mental Health NHS Trust. We care for the mental health and wellbeing of people across Kent and Medway and are rated 'Good' by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Our teams support children, young people and adults with a wide range of mental health needs. We also provide specialist services, including all-age eating disorder services and neurodevelopmental assessments for children and young people, such as autism and ADHD. Because we work across the whole county and across hospital and community settings, we can make care more joined up and easier to access for the people we serve. The Community Brain Injury Team clinicians recommend CBIT as a place to work (or be treated). They report feeling mutually heard, supported and valued by team colleagues. They are proud of their outcomes and achievements in patient lives. Within the team they feel motivated and have shared values, aspirations and goals for patient outcomes. They feel engaged and empowered in decisions affecting their work within the team. Come and join this well-regarded team and make a difference in someone's life that has been affected by brain injury. We welcome applications or enquiries.
