Main duties of the job

• Provide orthodontic care for patients in the west of Dorset with complex orthodontic needs
• Supervise multidisciplinary teams to deliver cleft, orthognathic and hypodontia care
• Deliver high quality, customer focused care

Person Specification

Education, Qualifications & Training
Essential

• Full GDC registration
• Entry on the GDC Specialist Register
• To have undertaken an MScD or DDS or equivalent
• Successfully completed ISFE or shortly to sit the ISFE ( must be within 6 months of the interview)

Experience & Knowledge
Essential

• Evidence of thorough and broad training and experience in managing complex orthodontic cases
• Ability to take responsibility for delivering the service required of a consultant

Desirable

• Experience in managing and involvement in treating patients presenting with Cleft Lip and Palate deformaties, patients requiring Orthognathic surgery and Hypodontia

Current Skills & Abilities
Essential

• Broad range of IT skills, including Orthodontic specific platforms eg Dolphin
• Ability to update clinical knowledge and skills
• Knowledge of evidence based practice
