Are you an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon looking for your next opportunity in Leeds?
An exciting opportunity is available for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a friendly, supportive and well-established small animal practice in Leeds, West Yorkshire.
This role would suit a vet with some first opinion experience who is looking to join a collaborative team, develop their clinical skills and enjoy an excellent work-life balance , with a 4-day working week and no Sunday or out-of-hours shifts.
The Role
You’ll join an experienced team of Veterinary Surgeons, working across a number of established small animal sites in Leeds.
The role will involve a mixture of consultations and surgery , with the position primarily being a roaming role to support the wider rota. You’ll likely spend around one day per week operating at one of the main sites.
A consulting-only position can also be considered for the right candidate.
Working Pattern
- 38 hours per week
- 4-day working week
- 1 x 11-hour shift + 3 x 9-hour shifts
- 1-hour unpaid lunch break
- Shifts starting from 8:30am
- Saturdays approximately 1 in 5–6
- Saturday hours: 8:30am–6:30pm
- A day off the week before or after a Saturday worked
- No Sundays
- No out-of-hours shifts
- Bank Holidays shared equally across the team
- Practice closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day
About the Practice
You’ll be joining a well-established five-site small animal veterinary practice in Leeds , with a friendly and supportive team culture.
The wider clinical team includes around 12 Veterinary Surgeons , many of whom hold certificates or have developed specific clinical interests. You’ll also be supported by an excellent team of Veterinary Nurses and support staff who work closely together to provide high standards of patient and client care.
The practice is committed to supporting professional development and is proud to be both a Veterinary Nurse Training Practice and a host practice for final-year veterinary students.

You’ll have access to a varied caseload and experienced colleagues, providing plenty of opportunities to develop your clinical skills and interests.
About You
We’re looking for a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon who has some experience working in a busy first opinion environment and enjoys being part of a collaborative team.
You’ll ideally:
- Be an RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon
- Have some experience in small animal first opinion practice
- Be confident managing consultations
- Have experience with routine surgical procedures
- Be passionate about patient welfare and excellent client care
- Enjoy working collaboratively with Veterinary Surgeons, RVNs and support colleagues
- Be keen to continue developing your clinical skills

Salary & Benefits
The salary for this role is £35,000–£50,000 , depending on experience.
