Job details

We are looking for motivated individuals to join our Training Academy, where we develop the next generation of Asbestos Consultants within the environmental sector. This is a fully funded, on-the-job training programme that offers the opportunity to build a specialist career while working towards a £30,000 salary within two years. Candidates can follow a flexible training pathway of 1, 2, 3 or 4 years, depending on the pace that suits their development.

You will start your journey by training as an Asbestos Surveyor and Analyst, gaining valuable hands on experience before progressing into consultancy and project management roles. To support your development, Riverside has established a dedicated Training Academy, led by an experienced manager whose sole focus is developing and supporting emerging talent.

Our Asbestos Consultant Programme is designed to accelerate career progression by combining technical training, professional development and leadership skills, helping candidates reach their full potential as quickly as possible.

Enhanced academy members who stay on track also receive monthly performance bonuses, providing stronger earning potential and a faster route into senior roles.

Role Benefits

  • Starting salary of £25,058 (including a £1,000 academy bonus), with staged increases to £30,400 by the end of year two (including a £2,000 academy bonus).
  • A structured long-term training and development plan, covering technical surveying and analysis, leadership, management, compliance, communication, problem-solving, time management, quality assurance, project management and more.
  • Fully funded on-the-job training delivered through nationally recognised providers such as BOHS and RSPH.
  • Meaningful, secure work helping to keep people safe in their homes and workplaces.
  • Company vehicle provided for work and personal use, plus a company fuel card (private mileage covered by the employee).
  • Enhanced benefits package, including pension via salary exchange, life insurance, employee assistance programme (EAP), staff recognition awards, employee discount schemes, and social and charity events.
  • Loyalty rewards, including enhanced sick pay and additional annual leave with service.
  • High-quality equipment including smartphone, tablet PC, specialist tools and safety equipment.
  • A friendly, professional and supportive working environment.

Role Requirement

  • Level 3 qualification or higher (e.g. Degree, A-Levels, AS Levels or NVQ Level 3 minimum).
  • Willingness to commit to 2–4 hours of personal study per week as part of the training programme.
  • Full UK driving licence and confidence with regular driving.
  • Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS check.
  • A professional, friendly and hardworking attitude.
  • Ability to successfully complete technical training, audits and examinations.
  • A methodical and detail oriented approach to work.
