We're looking for warm, caring and enthusiastic Healthcare Assistants to join our daytime team at Meadowbrook House.

Job Purpose

The role of a Health Care Assistant is helping our residents to live full, happy, and healthy lives by delivering person-centred care, meaningful activities, support, and companionship. It's a fun, rewarding, and fulfilling role where no day is the same and you'll build genuine relationships and make a real difference each day - helping residents enjoy life and receive the quality care and opportunities they deserve.

Job Responsibilities

• Support residents with personal care, maintaining their privacy, dignity, and respect at all times.
• Engage residents in meaningful conversations and activities that enhance their quality of life.
• Deliver care in a person-centred manner, tailored to individual needs and preferences.
• Conduct regular wellbeing and health checks in accordance with individual care plans.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues and external healthcare professionals to ensure consistent, high-quality care.
• Accurately record and maintain resident information using digital documentation systems.
• Promptly report any incidents, changes, or concerns to senior team members.

Essential Skills

• Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with residents and colleagues.
• Good written English for accurate documentation of daily care and interactions.
• Basic computer/IT skill for navigating digital documentation systems.

• Commitment to ongoing learning, professional development, and maintaining up-to-date training.
• Always safeguard and promote the welfare of vulnerable individuals

Development Pathways

As a Healthcare Assistant, you'll have the opportunity to progress to an Enhanced Healthcare Assistant role through our comprehensive training and competency programme. This development pathway will enable you to:

• Safely administer medication following competency assessments.
• Carry out basic clinical observations and report concerns appropriately.
• Lead by example, promoting high standards of person-centred care.
• Support and mentor new colleagues during their induction and development.
• Work alongside Team Leads to support the smooth running of each shift.
• Build the knowledge and confidence needed to progress into senior care roles in the future.

Pay Scale - No qualifications

• £13:00 per hour 
• £16.25 per hour (Weekend Rate)
• £26.00 per hour (Bank Holidays)

Pay Scale - Care Certificate or above qualification in care

(Don't have your Care Certificate yet, we'll support you to achieve it!)

• £13.50 per hour
• £16.88 per hour (weekends)
• £27.00 per hour (bank holidays)

Pay Scale - Enhanced

• £13.90 per hour
• £17.38 per hour (weekends)
• £27.80 per hour (bank holidays)

Shift Pattern

• 1 11-hour shift per week
• Opportunity to pick up additional shifts, with enhanced rates paid for any additional shifts worked
