Location: Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast
Grade & Speciality: Consultant Cardiology with special interest in Acute Care
Dates: ASAP to January 2027 initially
Rota: Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm
Details: 10 PA's per week, The post holder will form part of a team of consultants providing Cardiology services at the Belfast Trust. The main duty of the consultant will be to provide a key role to ensure a sustainable, equitable, high quality, and responsive Ambulatory Care Unit
The Ambulatory Cardiology Unit (ACU), based at the Belfast City Hospital, aims to provide specialist cardiac assessment within 72 hours of triaging for patients presenting with recent onset symptoms and one or more of the following: breathlessness with elevated NTproBNP, new onset symptomatic arrhythmia, unexplained syncope or at request of Consultant Cardiologist.
The successful candidate will also contribute to emergency Clinical on Call service, Consultant of the Week rota and elective out-patient care as part of the BHSCT cardiology team. The successful candidate will have clinical responsibility for the patients in their charge, allowing for the proper delegation to and training of staff working under their supervision. Attendance at the MDT meetings will support team working and governance for complex cases.

Essential Requirements
- Valid GMC Registration with full Licence to Practice
- Right to Work in the UK
- Minimum 6 months of medical experience in this role or a similar role within the UK
