Job description
The Neighbourhood Assistant role provides a key connection with our residents, delivering an excellent customer service, including the full range of housing management, community engagement & tenant participation activities. Helping to build sustainable communities and ensuring that our estates are safe and clean. The role will work closely with a team of Housing Officers ensuring that our legal and regulatory requirements are always met and upholding policy and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with the Housing Officers to ensure housing management duties and responsibilities across the patch are attended to, including breaches of tenancy, and provide office support.
- Act as a key point of contact for tenants and residents and demonstrate a ‘can do’ flexible and cooperative attitude to ensure excellent customer services and the efficient operation of services.
- Undertake light cleaning duties in communal and external areas, including litter picking, sweeping, removal of minor debris, ensuring estates are maintained in a clean, tidy, and presentable condition. Report any issues.
- Encourage and promoting resident involvement and engagement.
- Assist Housing Officers/Community Involvement Officers at residents’/community meetings, deal with tenant queries and provide feedback to tenants on general activity on estates.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Experience of working in a community or caring background
- A working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
Desirable Skills
- Demonstrate a knowledge of Health & Safety issues in a community or caring environment.
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively
